A New Beginning…..

Montrose Trinity Church of Scotland came Into being on Thursday 3rd August with the union of the three Church of Scotland congregations from across Montrose. The congregations of Dun & Hillside, Montrose: Old & St Andrews and Montrose: South & Ferryden united to become one congregation. The united congregation will be served by a team of 2 ministers and a families worker as well as an Ordained Local Minister - The team consists be Revd Ian McLean, Revd Geoff Redmayne, Mrs Shona Barakat and the Revd Ian Gray. The united congregation will continue to serve the communities of Hillside and Ferryden with a Sunday gathering for worship and other community events in addition to the central locations of the The Steeple Kirk & Halls and the Philos Community Hub.


The Moderator of Presbyter of Perth, Revd Donna Hayes, presided and the sermon was preached by Revd Christine Hay of Arbroath: West Church. In her sermon she spoke of trusting in Jesus and the need to step out of the familiar comfort of the boat in order to fulfil our potential. Also taking part in the service service were members of the uniting congregations.
